From the Randall (Herbert) Freedom Summer Photographs. Photograph (positive image of a negative) of Carolyn Reese (Detroit, Michigan school teacher), CO-Coordinator of the Freedom Schools in the Hattiesburg project, leaving by the side door of Priest Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Palmers Crossing. A local African-American girl, Cynthia Beard, stands in the left foreground. To her right stands voter registration volunteers Johnanne 'Johnnie' Winchester (Baltimore, Maryland; a student at Cornell University) and, to her right, Jacob Blum (Roslyn Heights, New York; a student at Yale University).
