Description: From the Thigpen (S.G.) Papers. Photograph of a log home. Caption on the back explains “An early day Pearl River County house still being used.” Can be found in the book Next Door to Heaven by S. G. Thigpen, with the caption, "A log house, typical of this area 100 years ago, build by Alex Dossett about 90 years ago and now standing on the Dossett old place 12 miles southeast of Picayune and belonging to B. L. Dossett, a grandson whose home is nearby. Note the old time clay and stick chimney, the old time cow hide bottom chairs on the porch, and the heart pine log sills and foundation blocks."
