Photograph (positive image of a negative) of Carolyn Reese (Detroit, Michigan school teacher), CO-Coordinator of the Freedom Schools in the Hattiesburg project, leaving by the side door of Priest Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Palmers Crossing. She is surrounded by local African-American children (the little girl is Cynthia Beard). In the foreground are voter registration volunteers Jacob Blum (Roslyn Heights, New York; a student at Yale University) and Johnanne 'Johnnie' Winchester (Baltimore, Maryland; a student at Cornell University).
