From the Ezra Jack Keats Papers.; The 17 boxes in this series contain fan letters and drawings sent to Ezra Jack Keats from school children. Many were done as class projects, while others are letters from individuals. Photographs are included with some of the correspondence. The Ezra Jack Keats Foundation continues to receive packets of mail from schools via the publishers of Keats' books. When Keats was alive, he tried to answer as much of the mail as possible. Dr. Martin Pope, President of the Keats Foundation, has now assumed that duty.

Most of these works are of an adult nature, rather than being created to use in children's books. Two of the boxes contain collage materials, similar to those used in Jennie's Hat.
